Sony has revealed that this year’s Black Friday was the best to date.

In October Sony’s second quarter reports showed that the PlayStation 4 had sold nearly 30 million consoles. Now the company revealed that the PlayStation 4 has had it’s best Black Friday in history. Globe Chief Executive Andrew House said, “We’ve just seen the most successful Black Friday in the company’s history. We are now trying to benchmark against the success of the PlayStation 2 – or exceed it if possible.” The PlayStation 2 was a massive success having sold over 155 million consoles by 2011.

A specific number of consoles that sold during Black Friday has not been revealed. We will likely see that come through in the next quarterly earnings report. The numbers are sure to rise as we move into the holiday season. Additionally, Sony has dropped the price of the PlayStation 4.
