Blizzard has revealed that additional content for their upcoming multiplayer FPS Overwatch will be free.

In a Developer Update, game director Jeff Kaplan talked about the content that will be available post-launch for Overwatch. While the game comes with 21 heroes, Blizzard does plan to add new heroes and maps to the game. These additional characters and maps will be patched into the game and will be free for all players. Kaplan said, “We have ideas for additional maps and heroes that we’d like to add to the game; so we thought about this and decided the best way to add them to the game is to patch them in as free content and not as DLC. Hopefully that alleviates some concern that people’s have.”

Currently there is no specific timeline for the release of these new characters and maps. Learn more about the game in the developer update below.

Overwatch will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2016. A specific release date has not been announced.
