Capcom has filed a new Trademark for Onimusha, hinting at the possibility of the series making a comeback. The last time anybody saw the series in North America was in 2006 with Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams for PlayStation 2.

A Japanese trademark for the company had been spotted by somebody posting on NeoGAF, but there is no further information regarding the filing. It is known, however, that it is not a renewal, but entirely new.

The speculation is there could be some form of reveal for a new Onimusha at The Game Awards, or even PSX, during its air this week. Though it’s too soon to tell, for now, fans of Onimusha just may have something to look forward to.
