Frictional Games’ science fiction horror title SOMA releases later this month, and to celebrate the developer has shared a trailer showing off the title’s creepy underwater environments.

“The radio is dead, food is running out, and the machines have started to think they are people. Underwater facility PATHOS-II has suffered an intolerable isolation and we’re going to have to make some tough decisions. What can be done? What makes sense? What is left to fight for?”

It’s difficult for me to not instantly think Rapture while watching the minute or so long video, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s not entirely clear if the woman reminiscing of better days is human, or you know, machine. I’m thinking machine. You can check out the trailer below and decide for yourself.

“For a brief moment I felt connected to the world in a way that I never had before. It was the most profound feeling of comfort and sense of belonging I could ever hope for.”

SOMA releases for PlayStation 4 and PC September 22nd.
