“NUK3TOWN is back,” it’ll look different though. Activision has confirmed a revamped version of the fan favorite multiplayer map Nuketown, now spelled Nuke3town, for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

Offered as a pre-order bonus for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC that will be available day one, Treyarch has reworked Nuketown to better fit the momentum-based, chained-movement system featured in Black Ops 3. Unfortunately,  if you are picking up the shooter for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 you’ll be missing out. Nuk3town won’t be available for those versions of the game.

“The Nuketown maps have a special place in ‘Call of Duty’ multiplayer history and we can’t wait to build upon that heritage in ‘Black Ops III,’” said Treyarch’s studio head Mark Lamia. “We carefully adapted the design of the map to make sure that it fit with our new movement system, but to also make sure that we retained the spirit and the fun that made fans fall in love with it in the first place.”

Debuting back in 2010 in the original Black Ops, the popular map returned in 2012’s Black Ops 2 as Nuketown 2025 so it isn’t surprising for Treyarch to include it in the third entry. Nuk3town may not entice me to pick up the shooter this Fall, but its previous versions were where I had most of my fun while playing against friends in private lobbies. What’s better than gunning down a buddy midway into their dolphin dive through a second story window? Nothing, really.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 releases November 6th for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
