Halo 5: Guardians will not be the game where Master Chief reveals his face.

Tim Longo, the creative director for Halo 5: Guardians, stated during a Microsoft event in Canada that Master Chief won’t be taking his helmet off in this chapter of the Halo franchise.

“I actually don’t even know if I can talk about that,” Longo said to Gamerant“He doesn’t take his helmet off.”

The closest we’ve ever come to seeing Chief’s face was the special ending for Halo 4 if the game was beaten on Legendary difficulty. There you get a brief shot of his eyes.

As fans of the Halo franchise, how many of you would actually like to see Chief’s face revealed and how many of you would rather it stayed a secret behind that iconic helmet? Let us know in the comments section below or on social media.

Halo 5: Guardians releases on October 27 exclusively on Xbox One.
