Ninja Theory has released a new gameplay video for their upcoming title Hellblade. The game, which is a timed PlayStation 4 exclusive, released a gameplay trailer back in June discussing more elements of the game in greater detail, but this video, which is dubbed as b-roll footage, shows off combat mechanics to give you a better idea of how combat works in the game.

Dealing heavily with mental illness, as well as the struggles people go through after traumatic events, Hellblade works more as an intimate title, something Ninja Theory hasn’t had a chance to work on up to this point. In that sense, everything is very up close and personal and the studio’s patented swordplay is used more in a dueling fashion, rather than slicing and dicing your way through endless hordes of enemies. It feels much more grounded and real, rather than stylistic for the sake of being stylish.

The game is still early in its development, and as stated before the footage shown is b-roll footage from the game, but what’s been shown here is promising, and it’ll be interesting to see how the game grows the closer we get to release date.
