When the Wii U first released, Nintendo wanted to prove that the system wasn’t just made for children and families. In order to push the mature theme, Nintendo and Ubisoft partnered up to release a motion controlled zombie themed game entitled ZombiU. The game was well received both critically and by gamers, but due to the low sales numbers of the Wii U system itself, the game never received the big pay day that it deserved. There was no follow up to ZombiU, and since its release in 2012, the game has largely been forgotten by gamers outside of the Wii U community. Ubisoft is looking to fix that by releasing an updated version of the game for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. For those of you who haven’t played the game, Zombi features a PermaDeath, meaning when you die, that character is dead for good. If you die with one character, you will respawn in a new character. PermaDeath isn’t a new mechanic in games, but it does make the gameplay of Zombi very interesting and different from most other games in the zombie survival genre. You can see the trailer for the updated release of Zombi below. The game is set to release digitally for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 18th.
