It looks like Fergal Gara will be heading on to other professional ventures now that his time with PlayStation is over. Gara has announced that he will be stepping down as the managing director of PlayStation’s UK and Ireland business. He will be replaced by Warwick Light, the general manager of PlayStation across the Nordics and East Europe.

Gara’s 4 year stint saw Sony go from a relative failure in the UK with the PS3 to one of the best selling consoles in UK history with the PS4.

PlayStation Europe’s leader, Jim Ryan, had this to say about Gara and his contributions to PlayStation in the region.

“In his four years managing the UK business, Gara has significantly strengthened the brand and made countless contributions to our success. He has also served as a key member of the European executive team, helping to steer PlayStation to even greater heights. We are extremely grateful for his dedication and for the legacy that he leaves.”
