After Gearbox Entertainment acquired the rights to finish the disaster that was Duke Nukem Forver, they also acquired the IP rights to the Duke Nukem franchise. This meant that if anyone wanted to make another Duke Nukem game, they would have to do it in conjunction with Gearbox Entertainment. Well, the original creators of the Duke Nukem franchise, 3D Realms, thought they could skirt that little legal bump in the road and just make a new Duke game anyway. The new game was called Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction and was initially announced for PlayStation and PC, but Gearbox Entertainment quickly filed suit against 3D Realms and had the project shut down. Now, 3D Realms is back with a new isometric 3rd person shooter that looks a lot like their original idea for Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction, except this time the protagonist is a female named Bombshell. For all intents and purposes, Bombshell is the new, female version, of Duke Nukem. You can see the trailer for Bombshell below, and if you like what you see, you can pick up the game for PC, PS4, or Xbox One later this year.
