For some the companion app in games is a welcome second screen experience, for some of us like me who own a Window’s phone, the ability to use these companion apps or have them available is limited and prevents us from having full access to features of a game.

Today Ubisoft has confirmed that it’s upcoming iteration in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will not include a companion app. According to a Ubisoft representative the team is focusing heavily on creating a fully fleshed out single player experience stating that, “There will not be a companion app. For Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the team wanted to focus all their efforts on the core experience.”

While this may come as good news to some and bad to others Ubisoft has clear plans to focus fully on making a great game. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will not include multiplayer, co-op, or an app and will be returning to its roots in terms of the gameplay experience.
