During a Technology, Internet, and Media Conference, EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen said that Titanfall 2 would “probably” happen. It seems a bit odd that a brand new flagship franchise like Titanfall would be tagged with “probably” when talking about its sequel. The franchise was the main selling point for Microsoft’s Xbox One console and was a commercial success upon release. Aside from the probable tag on the sequel, Jorgensen also said that when the sequel does come out, it will most likely release across multiple platforms. “Last year it was on the Xbox only; in the future, we haven’t yet announced, but we’ll probably have another Titanfall game. It will probably be a bigger footprint than just a single platform. I think that’s a huge positive for us.” There is no timetable for a Titanfall 2 release. EA already has Battlefield Hardline and Star Wars: Battlefront scheduled to release in 2015, and it has Battlefield 5 ready to go in 2016. So, with all of these marquee titles releasing over the next 2 years, it will be interesting to see where Titanfall 2 will fall on the calendar.
