Evolve has officially launched in North America as of today, to celebrate, Turtle Rock has released the 4 verse 1 shooter’s launch trailer. The trailer is relatively uneventful with a basic breakdown of the title’s four Hunter classes- Assault, Medic, Support, and Trapper and Monster types- Kraken, Wraith, and Goliath while prompting players to “choose a side”. For those interested in playing Evolve on a more competitive level, Sony and Twitch have announced a tournament to mark the upcoming release of the film CHAPPiE. “CHAPPiE is the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. That’s dangerous. With the ability to pick up any skill quickly, he’s got his sights set on Evolve — and he’s ready to crush the competition,” reads the tournament’s website. “Compete through an open bracket with friends for a chance to win $15,000, with the winning team facing CHAPPiE in a 4 on 1 show match live from Burbank, California.” Registration for the CHAPPiE Challenge begins today and runs through February 21st, with qualifier matches taking place on February 21st and February 22nd. The two best teams will face off on March 1st with the winner taking home $15,000 and second place netting $5,000 in a livestreamed match against the film’s free thinking robot.
