Plex, a media streaming service, has been added as an app for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The app will allow Plex users to stream media that exists on their Plex enabled devices directly to their PlayStation system. Plex allows users to stream media from personal computers to their device.

The app, however, is not free. The app will require a Plex Pass which users can subscribe to on a monthly, yearly, or lifetime basis with prices starting at $5. For those who want the app without having to get a Plex Pass subscription can purchase the app, the price for the app has not been revealed.

The Plex app will be available in the United States, Canada, and Latin America only and will only support video content with other streaming content like music and photos coming at a later time.

At launch, Plex on PlayStation will only support video content, but music and photo streaming “will be coming shortly.”
