Goodness gracious how people have been falling in love with Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire all over again? Apparently the 3DS remakes have reportedly hit 7.7 million shipments worldwide. An announcement reported by Famitsu detailed that last week’s European arrival of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire had a boost of 35 percent more on launch sales compared to Pokemon X and Y.

Earnest “Nex” Cavalli, a reviewer at Joystiq had this to say regarding the remakes’ popularity.

“Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire do little to overhaul the major pillars of a series that’s long relied on the same set of classic ideas, but they don’t have to,” Nex said.
“The core mechanics of Pokemon remain immensely addictive, and Game Freak’s latest coat of polish only enhances an already captivating adventure.”
While it may be true that Pokemon, like many of Nintendo’s other titles have relied on the same touched up routines to market their franchises, one must wonder at some point if Pokemon truly can continue standing so strong on a format they’ve used since the days of the Game Boy. Nevertheless, the numbers do not lie, and Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are a definite hit.
