A date has finally be given for the release of the pre-patch that will prepare the the World of Warcraft’s inhabitants for the next expansion, there’s a bunch of content, updated systems and other goodies heaped into it. The hot new character models being one of the most immediately noticeable, there’s also a revamped group finding tool, and both the inventory and quest log have been given a face lift. Limited time world events, like the incursion of the Iron Horde into Azeroth, round out the update. It’s all run down in the official patch notes and those on the Public Test Realms have already experienced the changes firsthand.

We already knew World of Warcraft would require slightly more modern system configurations than before, the pretty character models being the bulk of the reason for upping the resource requirements. Thankfully, it shouldn’t stop many from continuing to adventure in Azeroth as the new requirements for World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor aren’t incredibly stringent.

The update is planned to go live on October 14 and many players will find it has already pre-loaded. So get excited for World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor and all the crazy time traveling goodness when the full expansion goes live on November 13.
