The first full expansion is on the horizon for Hearthstone, Blizzard’s addictive collectible card game, and it will boast more than 100 new cards to tweak your favourite deck to clash against other inhabitants of Azeroth.

While the update, geared towards single player, was met positively by the community, it didn’t add much in the way of new cards, the lifeline of any CCG.

Speaking to Polygon, Jason Chayes, production director for Hearthstone discussed the importance of pacing of not only the content itself, but the frequency at which the content is released and their plans going forward. Both casual players who might be taking their first steps into Azeroth via Hearthstone and seasoned veterans in the crucible of card battles must be considered for Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft to continue reaching a wide audience.

“We really want to pay attention to how that is for the entirety of the player base. Does that feel like the right amount of content? Is it too little? It is too much? We feel like this is a good starting point,” Chayes said.

Rejoice! Over 100 more cards are on the way! Hooray!

While there weren’t any exact dates given or more information about the first Hearthstone expansion, Chayes did let it be known that more specific details would be coming “very soon.” With BlizzCon around the corner in November, this armchair analyst thinks that would be the perfect time and place to reveal all the sweet details.
