There is some new information coming out about the upcoming Destiny Beta.  Gamestop employees received a letter revealing that the beta will be rather substantial. Offering a look at the four chapter story,  four competitive multiplayer maps, a cooperative Strike, and some more of the world to explore.  More information posted on Reddit reveals that the beta may be up 12.63 GB in size on Xbox Live.

Bungie on the Destiny official blog  made it clear that fans should be ready for somethings to go wrong once the beta is launched later this month, saying:

“The Destiny Beta is a test. Make no mistake. This isn’t some circus stunt. This is science – and you’re the lab rat.

“We’d love to tell you that everything will go according to plan, but that wouldn’t be any fun. That wouldn’t teach us a thing. Even if the Beta is working perfectly, one of the alpha-geeks in the operations center is gonna kick it to see if it still works. Fortunately, we’ll be going to great lengths to keep you informed and keep you in the game.”

The Destiny beta will start on PS4 and PS3 on the 17th of July before going down for maintenance  4 days later on the 21st. Then on Wednesday, July 23rd the beta will come back online for PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 ending on the 27th.
