Ubisoft has announced that a new animated short film inspired by Assassin’s Creed Unity is being made.  The creative talent behind this project is not who one might expect for a video game short film.  The short which will debut at San Diego Comic-Con next week, is produced by musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie and The Walking Dead co-creator Tony Moore.  Fans who attend Ubisoft’s “Heads Will Roll! Assassins Creed Unity Demo and Q&A” panel at Comic-Con on Friday, July 25, will be the very first to see the animated short. The animated short should be then distributed online sometime after.

Attendees  of the Assassin’s Creed Unity Panel at Comic-con will also get to learn how the long running franchise has been “re-imagined’ for the new consoles. The panel will also touch on details about the games protagonist Arno, as well other details about the game.  Ubisoft also teased that those who attend will be the first to hear about “new announcements” for the franchise.

An Assassin’s Creed feature film is also one of six films Ubisoft currently has in production with 12 Years a Slave, and X-men: Days of Future Past actor Michael Fassbender attached to the play the lead role.

Assassin’s Creed Unity hits stores on October 28th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
