Yesterday Idea Factory announced that Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 will be a new addition to the long-loved RPG series Hyperdimension Neptunia. The game is a remake of Hyperdimension Neptunia which was previously seen on the PS3 in 2011.

rebirth1_screen_eng(1)The game takes place in a parallel universe named Gamindustri that is protected by four goddess known as CPUs.  Long ago the four  CPU’s engaged in a war for supremacy known as the War of the Guardians.  However, as with all wars, their hold on the world inhabited by their people was weakened by the conflict and these weakened barriers allowed for creatures under the control of someone known as Arfoire.

During the War of the Guardian’s, one of the four CPU’s – Neptunia, was defeated and fell from the heavens resulting in the lose of her memories.  Compa and IF seek to return her memories with the help of a mysterious sentient book that contains the entire history of  Gamindustri. Together  the trio  and the living book set out across all four kingdoms in a quest to save the entire world.

The game brings some new key features not seen in the PS3 version of the game. The battle system has been completely overhauled, giving the player a more in-depth gaming experience. The main story will also have new event scenes and while the core story line will remain the same, many of the conversations are new. A new ending to the game has been added as well.  A new system has been added to Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 called ‘The Remake System’. This allows players to find items known as “Plans” and these plans let the player make changes to the game itself.  Players can now create unique items by burning items called Idea Chips onto Blank Disc, depending on the chips used, Godly Game may be the result which will grant  a new ability.

The game will be released in North America on August 26, 2014 for the PlayStation Vita. It will also be available as a digital game in Europe on August 27, 2014. Take a look at the new trailer and screenshots below!
