Publisher Warner Bros. and developer TT Games have announced the next installment in the insanely fun and popular LEGO Batman series, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, set to release this fall on both Microsoft and Sony’s previous and current generation consoles, PC, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo’s 3DS and Wii U.

“Building on the incredibly successful LEGO Batman franchise, we are working to make LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham the ultimate super hero videogame this year for all ages,” said TT Game’s managing director Tim Jones.  “The TT Games team is bringing LEGO Batman and an astounding amount of characters from the DC Comics universe to the next frontier with a new epic story, more gadgets and unexpected challenges.”

Players will team up with various characters from the DC Universe to take on Braniac in outer space before he’s able to act on his sinister plan of using the Lantern Rings to shrink Earth so he can add to his collection of miniature cities. Brainiac’s mind control of the Lantern Rings not only shrinks worlds, but also brings unexpected changes to to classic character’s personalities.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham features over 150 unlockable characters and new gadgets and abilities to try out. Gamers of all ages will also be able to explore iconic areas such as the Hall of Justice, Justice League Watchtower, and Batcave. In the Batcave, players will have access to the Bat Computer’s training modules and can participate in various challenges, races, and battles.
