After a leak earlier this year Deep Silver gave up the ghost and confirmed the existence of Metro Redux, a compilation and update of Metro 2033 and its sequel Metro: Last Light. Updated visuals are just the beginning with this compilation. For starters both games will run at 60 frames, Metro 2033 will receive most of the upgrades. The game will be upgraded and revamped on developers 4a Games’ latest engine, and will be incorporating some gameplay features from Metro Last Light.

This time around the AI is smarter and deadlier and the mask wipe mechanic and animations have been implemented.  Metro 2033 visuals have of course been updated putting them on par with Metro: Last Light. Fan requested features are being added as well, such as being able to check the watch and inventory.  Also, players now have the choice to progress through the games in either the survival horror style of Metro 2033 or the more  action, fast paced shooter play style of Metro:Last Light.
