Never Alone, the upcoming platformer puzzle game, also named Kisima Inŋitchuŋa, is set to be released for download on the consoles and PC this fall. This unique game, with its beautiful Alaskan scenery and traditional folklore, follows the journey of an Iñupiat girl and her white fox as she travels across the terrain of Alaska to save her people from an eternal blizzard. She follows the stories of old to create her own stories as she battles the elements and discovers the wonderful world of her tribe’s lore.

On Never Alone’s website Upper One Games, the game’s developer, describes the game as, “the first in a new category of games — games which draw fully upon the richness of unique cultures to create complex and fascinating game worlds.”Alaskan Native storyteller and elders help bring authentic tradition to the modern-age game.

Upper One Games released a trailer yesterday, showing off some of the puzzles, storyline, and gameplay, some of which was expanded upon by the company. They revealed that the game can be played either single or multi-player, with the fox being the additional character. If played alone, the player can switch between both the girl and the fox to play so as to adequately solve each puzzle throughout the game. And there are eight full chapters to use this feature on.

The game will be downloadable for $14.99 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Hello, I'm Jess! I'm an avid video game player that loves pastries, puppies, and purple paraphernalia (alliteration, too, obviously). I can be found playing everything from the old classics to the new releases, but I do tend to avoid games without maps. I get lost easily.
