Many developers have taken the time to speak up on the Kinect-less Xbox One Bundles. A couple developers at Harmonix, the developers behind the upcoming Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved, set to be the first AAA controller free kinect developed title, made a few sarcastic tweets. One stating “Oh, great. Super Great.” and another “Oh good.” Leading us to assume that not everyone really knew about the move Microsoft was making, although someone higher up was probably privy to the changes.

Other developers have gone on to say that this is removing any notion of AAA titles and leaving the Kinect front to Indies. Paul Mottram the studio head for the developer of Zumba Fitness stated, “I just feel sorry for those developers who had Kinect titles in development who’ve had the rug pulled from beneath them and may now stand little chance of seeing a return on their investment…”

Once again, much like the original Kinect, it seems that it’ll be up to indie developers to take the risk of something new with the peripheral. Which is already a problem within the industry to begin with, AAA developers not wanting to take the risk on spending resources on gambles.
