According to The Escapist, and first reported by Twitter user shinobi602, Assassin’s Creed Unity will feature a 4 player ‘narrative’ co-op mode. This report has been confirmed by an anonymous source within Ubisoft, and according to the source, there will be 2 demos of AC Unity at E3, one single player demo and one demo for the new 4 player co-op mode. It was also mentioned that the 2 demos would probably not take place during the same press conference. If Ubisoft sticks to its normal routine, they will likely show one demo at their press conference and one at the Sony press conference.

If this report is true, this would be the first Assassin’s Creed game to feature any kind of co-op mode at all, and it would be the first significant addition to the franchise since multiplayer was added in Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

Ubisoft has not formally announced or spoke about this rumor, so until that time, we will just have to go on the reports from our industry insiders.

What do you think about the inclusion of a 4 player co-op mode in AC Unity? Do you think it would enhance the gameplay experience or is it just another gimmick? Let us know in the comments!
