Apparently a press release for Assassin’s Creed V has leaked, according to a post on Reddit. Take the following information with a grain of salt, because there’s no way of knowing whether this is true or not until Ubisoft themselves reveal the game. However, it was just last year when we were talking about the leaked information for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag that ended up being true.

The press release, which is dated for March 4, says that Assassin’s Creed V will launch on November 4 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It states that the game has been in development for the past three years in a joint development by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto, with assistance from smaller dev. studios such as Annecy, Quebec and Montpellier.

The press release then goes into the setting for the game as well as the main character. The setting is revealed to be the Industrial Revolution in Victorian London.

“In the events of the ongoing Industrial Revolution, Assassin’s Creed V follows the story of Samuel Fey, as he enters the Assassin Order in a time of change and Templar rule. Fey is a successful and respectful entrepreneur, who works outside the corrupt law to guarantee the security of his own and others’ futures.”

Also discussed is how the gameplay has been completely overhauled for next generation systems, highlighted by new stealth and combat mechanics.

“Assassin’s Creed V is the turning point for the franchise, featuring completely revised stealth and combat mechanics, powered by the next-generation Ubisoft AnvilX engine and all-new gameplay features and systems. While Assassin’s Creed acts as Ubisoft’s rescope for the franchise, it maintains the key touch points that the series is built upon.”

Again, this is far from official, so take it for what you will. This could be dead on, or it could be something somebody thought would be a funny joke. It was around this time last year that AC4 was revealed by Ubisoft, so hopefully we wont have to wait too long to get some resolve to this apparent leak.

Fans of the Asssassin’s Creed series, what do you think about this possible setting for this year’s game? There’s always clamor for an AC game set in Japan, China or the French Revolution, but are you excited to travel to London during the Industrial Revolution?
