With the success of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag after two main titles that have seen their share of criticism, Ubisoft might be taking advantage of the series’ popularity in 2014.

In an interview with Examiner, Ubisoft Sofia producer Momchil Valentinov Gindyanov said that having multiple Assassin’s Creed titles releasing during one calender year was not out of the question.

Yes, obviously we already know about Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD coming out early next year. This information does not count that game or any possible handheld titles. Sources familiar with these projects have stated that Ubisoft does in fact have two Assassin’s Creed titles planned for 2014. One would be a next-gen exclusive for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and the other would be developed for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. These sources also stated that the series was undergoing a massive re-scope, which isn’t hard to believe given the drastically different take on the present day story telling in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

None of this has been confirmed by Ubisoft, but as soon as any more information leaks, we’ll be here to bring it to you.
