3 New Developer Flythroughs Detail the Locations of Ryse: Son of Rome Matt H November 14, 2013 Consoles, Microsoft, Xbox One Microsoft has released three developer flythrough videos, yes flythroughs (think golf hole flyovers), that showcase three distinct locations that will be featured in the Ryse: Son of Rome’s campaign. The first video features the Flying Swamps locale, which is home to the northern Barbarians that are under the rule of the Minotaur King. The second flythrough delves into Rome itself, which is at the height of its glory, and full of refined culture and corruption. The final location preview for Ryse: Son of Rome is York, which during the game’s setting is the capital of Britannia, and the first line of defense against the Barbarian hordes. Each of these locations will be featured during Marius Titus’ journey towards vengeance, and each paints a very different picture of society during the Roman Empire. Based on the flythrough videos below, it looks like Crytek paid special attention to giving each location featured in the game a unique look and feel to break things up. They also paid homage to the actual architecture and buildings present during Rome’s dominance, not too unlike what Ubisoft has did with its Assassin’s Creed series. Ryse: Son of Rome has taken some hits in the press, but it’ll be up to you to decide if it’s a worthy Xbox One launch title or not. If you want to get in on the action make sure to grab a copy when it releases alongside the Xbox One on November 22, 2013.
