External storage will not be supported at  launch on the Xbox One, Major Nelson announcemed on his latest podcast. Around the 37 minute mark he goes into the details about the Xbox One and its external storage capabilities. “The future plan is for definitely to support external storage much like we do on the Xbox 360. My understanding is that feature will not be there at launch because the team is working on some other things, but it definitely is on the list. I don’t know when it will come in though.”

Xbox One will come with a 500 GB  internal hard drive included that can not be replaced. When the console was announced back in March, Microsoft did confirm that owners would have use of external memory via the system’s USB 3.0 port. As of right now it is simply a game of wait and see as to when the feature will be available for use.
