Yikes! Another wave of layoffs and studios closing has hit the gaming industry. This time social game developer Zynga is making the major cuts. The company will have wide spread layoffs leaving more than 500 people unemployed and will be closing their studio locations in Los Angeles, Dallas and New York City.

This layoff totals about 18% of Zynga’s workforce and due to these closures games the company has developed will also be shutting down. Zynga developed Facebook game Empires & Allies which plans to shut down on June 17. No further comments about their closure has been released.
