Take-Two has confirmed that neither Rockstar or 2K Games will be making an appearance at E3 this year. This means that none of their games, GTA 5The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, and WWE 2K14, will be shown at the convention. This news came with the publisher’s review of their fiscal year results.

I’d now like to take a moment to discuss the upcoming E3 show in Los Angeles. This year, our labels will not have a booth on the show floor,” said Take-Two president Karl Slatoff, “Both Rockstar Games and 2K have instead decided to focus their marketing and PR efforts on a series of events throughout the spring and summer. Our team, however, will be present at the show, and we look forward to seeing many of you there.

Slatoff went on to say, “So our philosophy on the show is that we like the show, we participate in a meaningful way in the show. It’s a great place for the industry to get together, and we’re highly supportive of it. This year it just didn’t make sense for us in the same – at the same level.

Take-Two Interactive acquired the licensing for the WWE games earlier this year when THQ went bankrupt. The WWE games will continue to be developed by Yuke’s. The contracts between Yuke’s and WWE became nullified with the new partnership, and will allow both companies to sign new deals with Take-Two. THQ will still pay WWE $650,000 in royalty payments for each game sold, as part of the new deal. WWE 2K14 is set for an October 29th release.
