Due to internal development difficulties, many of Microsoft’s next generation Xbox games find themselves far behind schedule.

In an interview with Kotaku, anonymous sources say that Microsoft actually had to cancel many of their intended projects because of all the problems that the developers were encountering during the development process. There is no word on which projects were cancelled or delayed because of these development woes.

Because of these internal issues, Microsoft has been on the lookout for high profile games that they could get their hands on to replace those cancelled projects. One projects that Microsoft was able to get their hands on is Respawn’s upcoming sci-fi FPS, which is rumored to be named Titan. The game is mostly a multiplayer shooter that will require an always online connection.

With the next generation Xbox announcement scheduled for May 21st and E3 right around the corner from that, it would be in Microsoft’s best interest to get some kind of passable demos of their upcoming games ready to show to fans. If not, it could put them even farther behind Sony’s PS4 lineup, which is shaping up nicely with games like Watch Dogs, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, and Diablo 3 all set to release with the console.
