Final Fantasy 14 developer, Naoki Yoshida, announced on the games official forum that the beta for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn will be accepting more testers and add gamepad support in early April.

The second phase of beta will have no major content additions and will focus mainly on the gampad support testing.

The first phase brought in 100,000 testers and they were able to point out some of the server issues that weren’t showing during the alpha. They were also able to catch FATE-related (Full Active Time Events) performance issues and fix load problems in the starting zones on each server.

The behest system, now known as the guildheist system, will be phase three’s main focus during testing. The level requirement for the guildheist system will be at a lower level requirement then it predecessor.

Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn‘s release is set later this year for Windows, PC and PlayStation 3.
