It seems like the bad news just keeps coming for Electronic Arts. A group of researchers at the online security company reVuln found a loophole in the way that EA’s online distribution and gaming platform Origin opens games. According to the reVuln team, Origin, like many other softwares, uses web- like syntax to easily access and launch games when players decide to play them, but this code was able to be manipulated to point at malicious programs in place of games.

EA has confirmed the existence of the exploit and a representitive of the company had this to say, “Our team is constantly investigating hypotheticals like this one as we continually update our security infrastructure.”
