With financial reports flocking in from many major companies, hints at upcoming games can be spotted in many a transcript. For Batman fans, Time Warner’s Q4 Earnings Call (2012) gave a tip to the fact that the company would be publishing a new installment in the Batman: Arkham series in the 2013-2014 fiscal year. John K. Martin, the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer stated during the call that: “… we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.”

Mr. Martin wasn’t forthcoming with details about this project. However, it is known the Rocksteady Games, the series developer will not be developing the new Arkham title. Rumors have played at the idea that Rocksteady is already working on a ‘silver age’ Batman game centering around the Bat’s first run-in with the Joker. Supposedly, this would also involve other members of the Justice League. However, that remains unconfirmed. Details about the new Arkham game have been extremely scarce and it would remain a rumor were it not for Mr. Martin’s comment. Even the developer is unknown. Personally, I’m going to be salivating over the new Batman: Arkham game and, well, I wouldn’t say no to a nice prequel either!
