Back in March, Nintendo confirmed that the GameCube launch title Luigi’s Mansion would be coming to the 3DS with modern graphics and addition. Now, Nintendo has confirmed that Luigi’s Mansion 3DS will launch on October 12th.

This version of the game will include updated visuals, a map on the bottom screen, and a boss rush mode called Gallery Boss Mode.

This is a prequel to Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon which launched on the 3DS and received acclaim from both critics and fans. Unlike Dark Moon, the first game is much shorter and only features 1 mansion. However, the gameplay and atmosphere won over fans and the franchise became a cult classic. So much so that the Poltergeist, which debuted in Luigi’s Mansion, have become a staple item for the green plumber.

Luigi’s Mansion 3DS launches on October 12th for 3DS.
