The Nintendo Switch has become Nintendo’s biggest commercial success, easily surpassing the Wii U and becoming an acclaimed gaming system in less than a year. Now the system is reaching 20 million units sold.

According to Nintendo, 19.67 million Nintendo Switch units have been sold. With Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze selling 1.4 million since May, Mario Tennis Aces crossing the million mark since its release, and two Labo sets have sold 1.39 million units combined. To date, 86 million games have shipped for the platform.

This is an incredible accomplishment considering that the Wii U sold 13.56 million by time it was discontinued in 2017 following The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
