Nintendo has abandoned the Wii U for the more successful Nintendo Switch, releasing its library of exclusive titles for Switch over the course of the last year. However, Nintendo has strangely removed Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze from the Wii U eShop.

Meet the crew: Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong

Gamers can still play physical copies of the game or redownload the game if they already own it but purchasing it has become impossible. The most likely reason is that Nintendo wants to maximize sales since Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a port of the Wii U game with new content. It was being sold for $19.99 and the Switch version will retail for $59.99.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze launches May 4th for Nintendo Switch.
