Ryse: Son of Rome has been given a co-operative mode called Gladiator. This co-op mode puts players in an arena type settings with players teaming up to take on an “ever-changing horde of enemies.” Ryse offers a large variety of armor, weapons, shields, and consumables to customize your own unique gladiator,” according to Crytek. ”These items are earned through gold rewarded from victories in combat and impact your stats by improving your focus, XP, crowd reaction, and health. Consumables are elixirs that have a temporary effect, such as improving health or allowing instant kills.”

In addition to announcing the co-op aspect of the game Crytek also announced that Ryse will feature 11 multiplayer maps at game launch, and an additional map for those who purchase the Day One Edition of the game. An official release date has not been announced for the game but it is expected to release this fall as an Xbox One exclusive. Watch the new Gladiator trailer below!
